Pickup Vaticanus

Good morning, friends. Not all of the toons at my editorial cartoon blog are explicitly Catholic in nature, but this morning's offering is, and I thought y'all might appreciate it. As any of you who may have visited (or lived in) the South would know, it is not uncommon to see a flag-bearing pickup truck driving down the street. I have yet to see one with a Vatican flag, but I figure it's only a matter of time.
I spend most of my time drawing human faces, so drawing this truck was a bit of a stretch for me. If you have any tips to offer for my future forays into automotive sketches, I would love to read them!
Look out Southern Baptists, here we come! As Jay Anderson has reported at his excellent blog Pro Ecclesia*Pro Familia*Pro Civitate, Roman Catholicism is flourishing in the Southern United States. As a little Protestant kid growing up in suburban Atlanta, I ran into very few Catholics. Today, however, the Catholic Church is the 3rd largest church in the metro Atlanta area, and, as Jay's article notes, young Southern Catholics tend to be especially devoted to the faith and the Church. As a local car (and pickup truck) dealer says: "We're number 3, gonna be number 1 real soon!"

Zach,
So you're in the Atlanta area?! So am I! Which side of town are you on?
Jef, I'm in the NE side . . . Snellville/Lawrenceville area. How about you?
"We're number 3, gonna be number 1 real soon!"
Oh, that warms the cockles of my heart! ::sigh!::
(What is that expression supposed to mean anyway? I thought that cockles were some kinda molusc - you know, "Alive, alive-o.")
Looks like what mah truck would appear, if I placed my Vatican flag on the back. Too much wind resistance tough for daily usage. So my CSA bumperstickers will do for now. :-)
Plus I do have those fish emblems too. havent found Vatican bumperstickers though yet.
